Soundsplinter Or Dc Audio L4

Recommended Posts

Which would be a better choice to go with an 18" Soundsplinter RLP or an 18" Dc Audio Level 4? I am looking for a sub that requires massive air space for looks and puts out massive deep bass that will be heard blocks away. I am picking fom these models becuase of price and RMS which is around a 1,000 each. Any suggestions on would be great, pros and cons of them.

uh, never heard of SoundSpliter, the specs on a DC Level 4 18' are 2000 rms I believe.

I would go with a DC Level 18.

keep in mind sale is only till end of this month.

nobody really has any experience with a SS RLP 18, not alot of them have sold, so prettymuch alot of people talking on them will all be hearsay.

i dont know much about the DC but i do know the RLP is based off the TC9, and should sound really nice.

Alot of people use the soundsplinter subs for home audio. But the only thing with the sounsplinter subs, are that they are expensive. And the RLP will handle way more than 1000 watts RMS. But they require a huge amount of airspace, and they can also hit the low notes really well.

So i have heard they they widely used in homes, but should that reflect how they perform in an vehicle? Or is the sound going to be the same?

one of my friends has a 18" SS RLP, and it absolutely hammers. the sound quality is awesome, and he hit a 148.9 on the TL. I like the RLP, and it isn't that expensive. BTW, he is feeding it 2krms, and it is taking if perfectly fine.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...
