bighossf150
Brand new lanzar opti6000d, Ive only used it once for around 30 seconds about a month ago just to make sure it works and put it right back in the box. Today I got my dual 1/0 inputs in and when I went to put them in the amp they touched and sparked, this happened with the amp sitting in my house not hooked up to anything, power, ground, remote or rca's. Could that have fried something inside the amp? Skullz
Have you tried hooking it up yet? We can't really say one way or the other if the sparks fried it or not since we weren't there to see what happened. If you had them hooked to their perspective locations and they touched that might have done something but no way of knowing until you try it out. As a precaution i always hook the power wire first before the ground cause if i happen to drop or let it go i won't have anything to worry about if it touches anything. 01ExSport
I'm guessing the stored up capacitors discharged? Could be way off though, but that's my best guess.
snafu
Correct, you simply discharged the power supply caps by shorting the + and - power inputs. No damage should have occurred to the amp, but I bet you jumped! Quote Tony Candela - SMD Sales & Marketing Email me at [email protected] to learn about becoming an SMD Partner!
