SnowDrifter Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Looks fine to me. IMHO people get way too hung up on port area per cubic foot vs. trying to keep the exit velocity of the air low enough to eliminate chuffing/turbulance. I've done boxes with 9sqin port/cube up to 18 sqin port/cube with pretty high success. If you tell me how much power you are running, I can figure out if you need more port or not. Edit: and are you using the D1 or D2 sub? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Joe X Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 The baffle thickness should be set to 0.75, if you are doing a double baffle which I would recommend, you should set the "# of extra baffles" box to 1. Also a little more port area can't hurt you. Finally the port width should be constant, if you dont know how to calculate the length of the parts I can give you some extra infos.

I didn't find a difference when I entered that for the baffle. As for the port, the box calculator did that for me already.

RAM_Designs Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Get yourself 55-60in^2 of port and make sure the width is consistant throughout the port. It looks like the width in the second design is skinnier once you make the turn at the back of the box.
