electrical support to back up 3500+ watts

Recommended Posts

So in the final planning stages of my system. planning on getting a nightshade and running it off either some 3500 watt amp or possibly a skar 4500 if the price is right.

Just some guesswork here, but i think whatever will fit under my hood, plus a pair of XP3000's 2 runs of 1/0 and a 250 amp alt should do the trick alright. (big 3 is assumed)

but yeah, i'm no electrical expert, so input please?

Also, if i plan on 2 runs of 1/0 to the back, should i do 2 runs of 1/0 when doing the big 3?

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I don't think you'd drop below mid 13's with that kind of electrical, should hold up just fine.

sounds like it should be enough. i was running about 3k with no voltage issues at all, full tilt idle dropped to 13.8v. only had 2 hc1400s and a hc800, and the XP3000 are in another league, plus only a 200a alt.

on 3500, i bet your voltage would barely move, on 4500, not sure because i never ran that much.

I wouldnt worry about the multiple runs for the big three. I have multiple runs for my power lead coming off but I have duals. the good tihng is if you want to test it you can after. but i doubt you'll see much if any gain.

i have 2 Deka 9a31s an xs d1200 for my 4000 watts

doesnt do horrible. it will dip below 12 occasionally but that is due to the stock alt

the amps are at .5 too so that doesnt help any

Yeah, your electrical will be fine with that. I'm running 4-SAZ3500Ds each at .5Ω on 4 XS d2700s and a 325a alt with no issues. I have 2 runs of 0 awg to the back and 1-0 awg for the big 3.
