Purplehaze Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Yes I would do that, and mount them inverted. Helps keep them cooler, and lets you smell coils if they get stinky. Also, I would throw a little angle on the baffles, so you don't get interference. It's easy to do, you don't have to change your calculations to do it. Just add a little to one end, and take the same amount away from the other end. Then you will have the exact same amount of space as before, only with the baffles at a slight angle. That looks good man, can't wait to see it built! Kickin' Cruiser Seller Feedback Stage 3 Dash, Door Panels,4th Order wall 4 - 15'son a DC 5.0K 2 DC 5.0K'sSolo X 15 (v.2) Sub Build
scooter99 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Report Posted June 2, 2012 Not 100% sure what you mean about angle the baffles. Which way would you angle them? Cabin side or back side? And what would that do, other than looks? Maybe get the sub away from the port? I'm interested to learn. I understand what you mean about the angle and how to do it, I'm just wondering about the reason for it vs straight baffle. I do like the inverted idea though. That's what I was thinking of going to anyway! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Report Posted June 2, 2012 Ok little box update. Not able to work on it right now. Spending quality time with my baby girl while her sister and my wife are at a birthday party. Just thought I'd throw a little teaser up here for everyone to see. This is the opposite side of the box, but you get the idea! Maybe I can get some work done tomorrow, or later tonight. We'll see! PICS!!!! That's all for now! scooter99 Posted June 3, 2012 Author Report Posted June 3, 2012 Hey guys, would the subs being that close to the port cause issues with performance with that design? Anyone? Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99 Posted June 4, 2012 Author Report Posted June 4, 2012 Ok, so I was able to get a little work done on the temp enclosure today. Painfully, but I got some done. I'll explain later. I have to go do some stuff and I'll post the pictures later. They're uploading now! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
Purplehaze Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 Haze, You talking about something like this? Yes sir, that was exactly what I was talking about. When I was designing my wall, I was told you need to do that to avoid cancellation between the subs. I'm pretty sure it was Ryan from Ram Designs that told me that. But it could have been someone else. Anyway, the airspace should stay the same, since you use the average when figuring angled sides. Man Scott that looks good! I wish I had your skills on sketch-up!
