beat2deth Posted April 2, 2012 Report Share Posted April 2, 2012 from the man apparently behind the box, but not the wiring, regarding the wiring of the subs. As for the wiring I am pretty sure those were dual .35 coils per sub when paralled would give .175 ohms per subwoofer and 2 subs paralled would give .0875 ohms per amplifier. when it was first powered up I think the protection circuits were shutting the amps down with that low of an impedance. and thats why there was some rewiring done seriesing subs to a more acceptable impedance for the amplifiers. I will say 1 last thing that I know on this video and will no longer post about this. each 4500 has 2 positive and 2 negative. when origionaly wired the subs were paralled at the amp. the amplifiers shut down at the low impedance. the 2 subs were then seriesed at the side of the box. the reason people got 1.5 on the taped wires is because they were reading the second set of leads still attached to the amp and thus in parallel with the 2 subs.
