I got suckered into building a box and now the right sub is clicking. Please help

No I did it for free I said I got suckered into building a box for a kid with a tahoe. and I just looked up a different box calc and it says that it is tuned to 32Hz.it would need 3 more inchs of port to be 30Hz. Dude this sucks I cant make him pay for my F up. I went with the dimensions I did, cause I figured the rms dimensions is about 2 cubes, 4"cubes altogether. so after port,sub displacement that i would be alright for being under rms .And for the main reason that there is alot of space to fill plus Ive been told that you want bigger boxs for under rms set ups.

To my defense The dashboard looks like ripples in the ocean(like no more tomtom on the dash anymore its hitting so hard) and he was saying he could feel it in his throat and the roof air control nobs use to rattle, now its so loud and hits so hard you really cant hear it anymore. The box sounds good and the speakers are actually moving now.BUT I can here a little click in the right speaker when the volume is almost maxed. you cant hear the click in the front of the car when the volume is 40/40 and you would never think it was happening till you get up close and here the dust cap click when it hits really hard into a higher change up tone. He's actually really happy about it.

subs are talkin to ya.

when your running low watts your not supposed to go THAT big.. like .5 over per sub, but not as big as you went.

with a proper box, it would be hitting a lot harder than it currently is.

and i bet those speakers are moving.. probably xmaxing at 25/40 volume

LOL no he looked at me like that. the speakers barely moved in the box they was in before. I am the only one that knows something is wrong here, and I cant live with myself, but thanks for busting my chops so randomly and out of nowhere.

Have I ever heard a good box before? hmm no I havent. I mainly stick to walmart prefabs and for shits in giggles I take 3 days to let clue set and solder wire so I can help out a kid that wants to know why he paid $300 for a box when my 12inch Orions on a Coustic600se is louder then his DD2512's on a T1000.

Go flame somewhere else cause it aint needed or wanted here.I could understand if you was in this thread when I posted the first one earlier in the week like everyone else that has voiced an opinion,but you havent. So please!

He did it for free for the kid, he had a thread up a week or so ago about it. But yeah, as has been said go with a smaller box tuned around 36Hz with 16-18 square inches of port area per cubic foot (net).

Have you checked the dustcap itself to see if its come loose a little? If it has you're fucking lucky. Trash that box and build a proper one for him. ANd if the sub is clicking, don't play it that hard until you do replace the box.

Well, where I come from it's usually customary to reciprocate such a bountiful greeting with a reacharound. Don't forget the smile too!

But all joking aside, just try sketching up a new design in the Torres Box Calculator using the recommended specs on the DD site for those subs, and since you're running lower than RMS then design it on the bigger side of DD's recommendations. Then you're always free to post up a screenshot of what you came up with for us to see and give you feedback on =)
