Cameronmyers74
okay so this JL 8 inch sub(http://www.jlaudio.com/8w1v2-4-car-audio-w1v2-subwoofer-drivers-92070) says it should be tuned to 38.0 hz well it has a circle port, but I wanna do a square port so below is the frequency of 38.55 going to make a big difference?? and also I calculated is as one box cause jl's site only gives you specs for on one box, the the port would be like a t shape inside the box
Joe X
A T port is for two subs. is that the case?
Cameronmyers74
Yes, i will be using two subs, each will have a chamber but the t-port will tie the two together

Cameronmyers74
okay I'm asking is the box being at 38.55 hz is close enough to 38.0 hz?? and thats what came out when I put in the numbers
Sergeant_Skyrim
Holy .75 ft^3 of bracing displacement batman. That's more than the net internal volume you've left for yourself. And yes, 38.55Hz would be close enough to 38Hz but I don't see why you're tuning that high or using these specs Quote Build in progress
Cameronmyers74
JL's site recommends tunning the box to 38hz and in would be a brace in the middle, and the .75 is the thickness of the sheet of mdf?? Sergeant_Skyrim
JL's site recommends tunning the box to 38hz and in would be a brace in the middle, Even so, you do realize that a value of .75 in the bracing displacement section means three quarters of a cubic foot. Imagine a block of wood 12" tall by 12" wide by 12" deep. You're saying that you'll be using 3/4 of this chunk of wood for bracing. Cameronmyers74
So what would I enter for bracing then??
412 CVX
use round ports and get at least 8 sq inches of port per cube. Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
