Sound Deadening..

Not sure if I worded that right.. I see a lot of people who compete with sound deadening material on they're doors and the lining of the trunk.......I was wondering.. just how much does this help and what would be a good brand to go with.. locally I can only get one brand and it is EXTREMELY overpriced..

For most its the annoying rattle they are trying to avoid rather the improvement on the meter. I believe i have seen it go both ways for the meter as well. Everyone will recommend secondskin because well its among the best.

Ive used both secondskin damplifier pro 80mil and audio technix 80mil, I like both so far however price point wise the audio technix stuff seems to be a lot more bang for your buck.

Also have been amazed that Im having no adhesive issues with the stuff and it is sticking fine when its being installed in 30degree weather! Some of your asphalt based deadeners that are even cheaper priced yet wont let you do that.

Thank you thank you! So it helps with that annoying rattle also?? Good. I can't stand to hear cars rattle from the slightest amount of bass. Any suggestions on a web site I can order this deadening material from?

Rattles can actually be killed without the use of sound deadening.

Find out what exactly is rattling and isolate it from making contacting with another panel. For example, just a bit of closed cell foam between the plastic trim and the sheet metal will work and cost ya next to nothin.

Of course this is just if you are trying to kill rattles. Sound deadening does several things when installed on the sheet metal... but I'm not going to dive into that right now.
