if its the first year of your license it will be that high.

Less cc=less insurance, and its safer to start out on.

Youll learn a lot more about cornering, and how you have to handle a motorcycle with a slower bike, because you need the keep the speed more constant to be faster. A normal 250cc should be able to go to 60mph in 7seconds. So its not slow.

A honda/kawasaki/yamaha 500cc would also be a good starter.

Dont start out on supersportbikes like gsxr, yamaha r, cbrs.

Most of the people who want to start out riding those only want to go fast instead of actually drive a motorcycle.

Okay I am the business manager for Pure Honda here in Minot ND. I sell a ton of sport bikes to younger guys. We have found that the two cheapest insurances are State Farm and Progressive. State Farm by far being the cheapest as they go strictly off CC's and not the type of bike.

I have a 750 Yamaha maxim. I'm 20. Insurance with everything at 500k and 10k medical, it's just under 22 bucks a month.

To me, collision isint worth it. But if anything happens, my ass is covered.

I had progressive on a brand new Yamaha r6 raven and was only 20 years old paid $68 a month for full coverage. I honestly wish I would've bought a r1 right from the start. I grew up on dirt bikes so maybe I'm different but I was ready for a upgrade after a month. Do what your comfortable with but I thought the r1 was easier to ride.

If he's making a payment full coverage is usually required.
