I need a little advice here, I have 4 Sundown SA12's on the way and ordered a DD m3a to power them, DD contacted me and said that they will not have the m3a for 6 weeks and offered me 2 m1c amps for the same price, so I accepted that offer, called Sundown changed my Subs to Dual 4ohm (I had ordered dual 2's) and then DD calls me back and says that they are out of the m1c as well. Now I need to figure out what to power these subs with. I looked at the Crescendo bc2000d but I have absolutely no experience with them, I am open to any suggestions! Thank you.

(I will obviously need 2 Mono-block amps, I don't want to contact Sundown and change my ohms again)

Try to shoot for around 1-1.2k of clean power per driver. They can take it song after song after song after song and is pretty good for daily.

What's your budget? You won't be able to run 4-5k on your electrical right now, that's for sure :)

Oh yeah, and the crescendos are great amps

So are a pair of AQ 2200s

OR a pair of brutus 2400s

I run 4 of the same subs dual 4 and all. I run 2 Sundown saz3500d's, but I do have quite a bit stronger electrical. If your planning on running off the stock alt and a single group31 battery that you have I'd try something like a single saz3500d at 2 ohms. This should be good enough on power until you upgrade the electrical to handle another amp, then you can run two subs per amp at 1 ohm and be very happy. I know I am with mine, numbers that I have done are in a no wall setup tuned to 37hz peaking at 42hz.

I haven't really looked into AQ yet, but I did do a search for what was better between the bc2000d and the AQ2200 and they seem pretty well matched up, the HiFonics I am a little weary of but I wouldn't leave it out of the question...Budget would be 8-900 for both amps, maybe a bit more if it's worth it. That's a big MAYBE!

EDIT:

Oh and I do have a yellow top under the hood, I know that's not too special but meh.

Should I just shell out the extra $299 and get a 200A Alt?

My problem being all of my past Systems have been terribly under powered, and now that the truck is finished up, it's time to get serious about it.

Yes, you should get the alternator. I'd also get better than a yellow top. They are meh.

This x2 800 per driver in a well built enclosure and you dont have to worry about bottoming out the coil when playing a little too much below tuning and you can waile on them song after song and not have them blow due to.thermal power handeling.

i would look for a bigger alt than 200amp if you can find one or afford bigger...especially if your planning on running like 4-5k watts or more...

Any suggestions on what kind of battery to put under the hood? Another Kinetik?

I was thinking the same, I think that would be suffice for what it's worth, and maybe @3200 watts I wouldn't have to upgrade the alt.?
