Ecco
What if you had ignored JBL's manual and put the deck to its maximum UNDISTORTED output before setting the gain? I was actually curious about this as well. That would be a good thing to test out as well, maybe in another video. I'd make a video now, but.... My JBL amp is nice, and I don't need another one. What I would do is sell it to someone and donate that money to my local animal shelter. But.. I'm sure I'm late to the game. Oh well, very informative video! meade916
What if you had ignored JBL's manual and put the deck to its maximum UNDISTORTED output before setting the gain? the thing is, if you dont have a dd-1 or scope, and just rely on the amp to do the work......you wont know that information (the decks max clean output). Also, anything else like a line driver, eq, processor etc in front of the amp throws the entire thing out the window. Out of curiosity i can look and see how it does at 33 but with only one tone on their entire disc and its not like ours, i doubt it will work the same. Either way the biggest gripe is that if you don't know whats happening BEFORE the amp, nothing else matters. Is there a particular reason you set the jbl unloaded and set with the DD1 loaded? Drew i didn't. 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong! Watch the bass
So not dissing on JBL, i really am a fan......but i think they missed the mark. This time, like the big are. But that they do something like this is on your banner. Quote "in the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty" Bob Marley

Guess it would be a shot in the dark if you didn't know the max clean power of your deck. Would the loading of the speaker change either the amp or DD1 setting? Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Would the loading of the speaker change either the amp or DD1 setting? dude.....no i didn't. Even if i did, that just changes the overlap by a couple db. No big deal. But again, i don't know what you are hearing because i didn't test it loaded. Everything was unloaded except for when i played the music cd. 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
are you refering to the humming you hear at 4:17? that is the 6.5's on the bench that are still hooked up to the rf amp. I have the sub inputs unhooked while testing the deck but the front/rear is still hooked up to the RF. The JBL is a monoblock so i only used the sub outs. the woofer was not hooked up and the bass amp was not loaded for either test.
