Start the morning off with some Decaf, you can't go wrong ;p

Decaf or no decaf. Thanks for your opinion but I prefer CoE and other light roast high rated coffees. When I pull an espresso shot on my E61 machine it's pure joy.

  2. Strange, it should work to mount 6.5 "in front doors, remove the door side and not just the speakers grid. Sorry, but we have got a lot of nice SAAB cars around here and people do it so I really don't understand why you can't make it.
  3. A friend gave a brilliant statement. "If you take away the straggling, the jagged, the uniqueness, personality disappears both in people and speakers."

  4. Suggest to start with stock / factory location for the VO-M6,5. Pods for B1 at A-pilars if you like to build stuff and experiment for greater sound. If you want to go really loud, think of eights or maybe active 3-way with for eg B1 + 6,5" + 8" for more punch sound from custom made doors. Expect to use lots of silencer / sound dampening / sound deadening in your car and seriously, if you use maximum sound levels from such a DD system.
  5. Audison BitTen is nice and cheaper then Audison Bit1 if you don't need the extras. Around here the Audison BitTen is around half the price but I can't tell the differens between them in retail price at your location. If you can find a used unit it could be a bargin because it's good stuff! (Products -> bit -> bit Ten/bit Ten D) http://www.audison.com/
  6. I would not want to have magnets except the motor of the speaker itself. Having direct connect leads works fine for me, and if one need it they can easily be extended.
  7. Infected Mushroom's new album "The Unveiling" will be out as of 8 May, which is today! I have high expectations because I followed I.M. for a long time now and bought all the CDs they have released so far. I.M. records are often played in audiophile circles and the song "Avratz" is known for its sound and great bass. If you haven't heard I.M. yet then check them out! You can get a preview here : http://www.infected-mushroom.com/ Albums at Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/Infected-Mushroom/e/B000APN6VU Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infected_Mushroom
  8. you can only get so loud with one tweet like i have and a 5.25 in the factory location some people would be content with it, but me, not so much If you want to go very loud I think you should go for the Digital Designs VO-M6,5 or perhaps the 8 inch VO-M8. With the sensitivity of 98dB for the 6" you could go for 122dB for one speaker at 256W, +3dB when doubled as a pair. Loud enough to get permanent hearing damage and they go for an easy fit in the stock location to. Eights can be fitted behind the door panels in both OG9-5, NG9-3 and newer SS modells.VO-M6 : http://www.ddaudio.com/products/mobile-audio/specialty-drivers/vo-series/vo-m65.aspx VO-M8 : http://www.ddaudio.com/products/mobile-audio/specialty-drivers/vo-series/vo-m8.aspx If such results are not good enough I think one need to build new door panels with multiplied speakers. I would put the speakers in front of the door and low. For my own car I recently bought four tens, which theoretically should be able to produce 132dB at 512W before cabin gain. As a try-out.
  9. The speakers would be placed next to the drivers bottom and pointed right into the front seats. One can do wonders when using the SAAB current location of the speakers.
  10. Looks like your driveing SAAB, the door panels are quite stiff but I wouldn't recomend such an installation. You can use the SAAB's original place for midbass and place midrange/tweeter on your dashboard. It works fine for SQ and can be loud to if the installator is skilled!
  11. I would like to see that, it sounds fun!
  12. When I did Academy Sheet Metal years ago I tried suicide doors. Short story is to open the door and look at the place where the lock case is and measure the corresponding location with dimensions from the existing hinges and do the same as for the lock case and pin. I did however extend the hinge attachment of the body a little bit. I did the work in a "Dataliner" ( http://www.datalinerusa.com/ ) for easy measurement and because of the cars damaged bodywork. Ofc it's easier to buy a new custom fitted kit, but I feel that some people almost forget they already got hinges and lock cases, but factory-fitted to the wrong end of the now new preferred. Nobody said it would be easy but if one can make the change with the cars own parts I think it's an opportunity to save money and also learn the basics and be even more proud of the result.
  13. Actually not to sure that you have to buy a kit, because you have hinges and lock case already original. Only problem is to switch them. No matter what you "Deicide" I'm tuned in for this thread!
  14. Very interesting to see the video on Youtube on my iPad this morning, here in Scandinavia it's halv past eight and the day is about to begin. Interesting among all others videos from Meade916 ofc!
  15. First post here. I've got multiple DD508, for music, but if you want SPL I think you should buy more then two of them or a couple of DD1508 insteed if you want 8 inch DIgital Designs.
