mikutzu
That's what I meant when I said U'll need quite a few clamps. Keeping my fingers crossed for like 2 days man. Hope they'll come back to live and perform as crazy as that surround looks like.
scooter99
WOW, SIMPLY WOW! I want those surrounds now! DAMN YOU! Well then.........get yourself some AR recones and get your hands dirty... They do look mean...although out of curiosity, I measured the actual cone diameter. They only measure at about 8" So I hope those surrounds allow some extra throw. This will be interesting on how it affects my meter score...given they'll be a little stiff initially but we'll see. Well that would take some serious thought. I've gotta get two new ones to add to my current pair. Then I'd have to get two re-cones on top of that for the current pair, and I'd be changing out perfectly good subs. Although I must admit that surround is where it's at. Damn! I think it'd depend on cost for the re-cones. I'm still stuck thinking though that I should anyway so all 4 break in at the same time. Not sure if that makes sense. That and I don't even know what all are on my subs now. so maybe! I'd think that surround is gonna make up for it. Wicks
Recones are done. Cones appear to move freely with no rubbing that I can tell so far. Next...dustcaps and then wedge these guys back in the box for some real testing. SnowDrifter
Recones look nice Hey quick tip that I picked up when reconing subs with a TIGHT gap (my own)Cut the folder to a length that will wrap around and *almost* touch itself. I'm talking like a hair width gap. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
