A week or two ago I had my car in a parking lot and it was pretty warm out but just in the low 90's. I usually put up a windshield screen to block the sun but forgot this instance. Got back in the car a few hours later and noticed my iPad in the dash was giving a "TOO HOT" screen. Yikes. Looked up and saw a gold colored blob in my rearview mirror. "Great......another thing to fix.." Went back to work that day... After work, I jumped back in the car and noticed this WTF is that??? Looked around and remembering my mirror issue, I looked up at the mirror. Black ooze dripping from it A little hard to see but here's the golden blob floating around my mirror...it shifts every time I get in the car.......weird. The mirror dims in bright light so I assume the fluid is some kind of electromagnetic gunk that gets opaque with electricity to reduce bright lights glaring at you. Never heard of one blowing up though... And no the gunk does not clean off the seats very well. I'll have to break out some better cleaner and some elbow grease and see if I can get rid of it. Wicks Posted September 12, 2015 Author Report Share Posted September 12, 2015 just curious if the .3 works on an RJ45 connector. if so did you ever consider running a back up piece of cat5 or something just in case this happens? looking at this it makes me wonder doing soIt does use what looks like a normal RJ45 Ethernet cable.The "faulty cable" I took out appeared to run my laptop hard wired to my router just fine but I don't know how Fosgate utilizes the cable and whether it's different then a normal cat5 cable After all this I should have run a backup cable but I didn't. Everything worked fine with a new cable that was just externally run outside of the car and into the cabin. If I further have issues then I'm done with the 360. No processor should be prone to this amount of difficulty. Fosgate doesn't use proprietary connectors though some of the cables are reversed at the ends. Call me crazy be I'll be running 2 lines for the .2 and a spare for my symmetry epx2. I just hear to many stories about the 360 and want to be prepared Yeah I heard that Fosgate cables have some wires crossed... After all my experiences, spare cables are a great idea! Would have saved me a ton of work earlier. I've never heard of issues with .2's but I've heard a ton of .3 issues. Good luck and keep me posted. Always curious how 360 installs go.
