Chaosgrunt
equipment list? Lol sure i can try. Its a bunch of random mismatching peices that i threw together because i paid 75 bucks for everything. Amp: Eclipse XA1000.1 Subs: Sony Explod (works perfectly fine on the amp. Sealed box) And a pioneer w300r (the one having the problems. Ported box, idk tuning. Could have been a bad subwoofer in the first place though for all i know. The suspension is looser than my mom.) n8ball2013
Because the amp is detecting clipping off the rail voltage not really detecting clipping. Be mad its not the dd-1 its the companies that have a clip light on their amps and the consumers who do not educate themselves on the product before deep ending THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger. Toby Ratcliffe
"but it almost fried a subwoofer because of it." This is the problem with your original post, and what you just posted. You claim that it is the DD-1s fault for almost frying your subwoofer. and then say that you could live with the amp's LED being wrong. If you are uncertain take it to someone with an o-scope so you can see for yourself.

Its worked wonders on everyone elses so i expect mine to hold up to the same standard. The amp, i could care less about. All this shits goin in the trash in a week anyways. Bmike
How did you almost fry the subwoofer, was it smoking, hot or smelly?/ Or are you just assumeing this becuase of the clipping light? Are you having voltage drop? if so this could cause your amp to go into protect and shut down. 2007 trailblazer lthead unit- pioneer p4300dvd crescendo ft-1 supertweeters pioneer m650 pros audiocontrol 2xs crossover Rockford fosgate p200-2 highsrockford fosgate p400-2 mids1- fi btl 18amps- saz 3500battery- evermax in front, 2 9a31 dekas in rearwires all knuconceptz 1/0 and rcas
Chaosgrunt
Based on your guys's opinions, it was probably just a bad subwoofer to start off with considering the xplod is still playing like a champ. Hopefully this is the case. Well thanks fellas.

Look up a post. The smell was very overwhelming. No visible smoke but the windows were rolled down as well so....
