IndianaBassHead Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Good afternoon everybody! I finally decided what subs I'm going to run in my tahoe and I'm just getting some input on the box I designed for my new subs. They will be here wednesday .It will be a subs up/port back and it's going in a 2003 tahoe. The one question I have is, is it ok just to do a regular L-port on the drivers side facing the hatch with the subs centered on top? Will this be my best build? Here are the box specs: http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z477/dmart1501/boxdesign.jpg[/img]"]http:// Quote Audio Build Ride: 2002 Chevy Blazer 4 door Head Unit: Pioneer deh-80prs Subs: 4 DC Level 3 15's in a 4th order wall designed by Trent Choate and Jeff Smith Subs Amp: AQ 3500.1 at wired at .5 (soon to be 2) Mids/Highs Amp: Skar 85.4 Mids/Highs: Skar components Electrical: Mechman 270 amp alt, 2 runs of Knu 0 gauge, XS Power d3400, 2 Deka Group 9a31 Build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167658-indianabasshead-blazer-dc-audio-4th-order-wall-build/ Perfomance Build 2003 Nissan 350z Greddy Twin Turbo, 3" Test pipes with Borla high-flow cats, Crawford Performance Plenum, Greddy E-manage Ultimate ECU Exedy Racing Clutch, Built Motor by Racing Innovations Greddy Over-fender aero kit (1 of 20 ever made), 19" Racing Hart r5 pro wheels 466rwhp Bike 2008 Midnight Blue Kawasaki ZX-14 Stretched 8" and lowered, Brocks Sidewinder exhaust, Power Commander 5
big dee Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 (edited) You don't have to do a L shaped port unless you need too to get the right length Edited May 6, 2012 by big dee Quote
Cutdeluxes1 Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Plan on doing the same exact thing in my 2001 Tahoe. Will definitely follow the build thread on this one. Quote

01ExSport Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Why are u tuning ur box so high?? Put it at 32-33 hz AQ's like around 36-38hz and still drop plenty low at a higher tuning. Quote
brent379 Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Oooo ok didn't know that... Makes sense now. how do the aq hdc3 18s compare to the havoc 18s?? Not trying to make a vs thread but I just dont understand all the qts and vas and all that number shit when researching subs so I need it in blk and white lol Quote
IndianaBassHead Posted May 6, 2012 Author Report Posted May 6, 2012 (edited) Ya normally I wouldn't tune my boxes this high but from what I've read, the aq's like it. But I'm assuming nobody sees any problems with this box design?
