If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Let me clear this thread up for everyone and if anyone wants to pass this along to whomever posted the original thread over on TW, that is cool.

First and foremost, the SPL Tiles that were released by Second Skin are an OLD product and are NOT the same as Alpha Damp.

SPL Tiles were released Summer of 2009 (or somewhere around then), before I was officially with Second Skin and while under different management. So my knowledge as to the butyl mix and construction of the SPL Tiles is limited.

Second, based on those pics I would suspect that the installer didn't properly prep the surface. Quite often I see pictures similar to that and the installer either used a citrus oil based cleaner (sometimes not knowing it) or a cleaner that contains naphtha which leaves an oily residue that pretty much no product will stick to.

If anyone has installed Damp, Damp Pro, or Alpha and have tried to remove it you know there is little to no chance our products will come off willingly.

So just to recap.

1. SPL Tiles are an old product and NOT the same as Alpha Damp.

2. Prep work looks suspect.

3. Looks as though there are air pockets underneath the material.

Yeah I know there were issues with the old SPL Tiles.

I only received a handful of them when they came out and I think I used them on a laundry drier... lol
