OrionStang
I worked at a battery plant that put out 45k batteries per shift here in NC. Only dry cell type batteries. We put out all the batteries for walmart, sams club, advanced auto, gm, ford, chrysler, interstate, and probably another half dozen to a dozen different people. The only real differences I saw were the size of the plates, how many were put in and how thick the paste was. So the marine batteries were always the dirtiest machines because they had the most paste and larger plates on them. Remember that just like tennis shoes there still are premiums charged just based on a name. The weigh of the battery to me is what tells you what your getting. I wasnt a line worker just the safety guy so I can't get much more detailed than that. I bet there are only 3 or 4 actual manufacturers of batteries here in the USA total. The amount of money they made per battery was not a whole lot. Heavier battery does not mean better battery LOL. Did you all ignore Scotts video? EDIT: Nathan. 8ight
Next time I find something useful to some or all of the community I'll be sure to keep it to myself. I'm sorry you are all insecure about your overpaying for batteries now and feel the need to flame me to reinforce your own decisions by dog-piling me and removing anything even remotely useful to somebody interested in a new cheap battery or two from this thread. I await your brilliantly immature and insulting replies. I'm heading back over to DIYMA for a while until the bad SMD taste is out of my mouth. Until you can learn to actually deal with factual info and not get all butt hurt because someone called you out on your bad info, i might suggest you just stay over there. TeamHT
It's not even an opinion. With every other post he contradicts himself, and his entire thing about cheaper batteries and the performance is the same...and yet he has no idea what he's talking about. OP, you found cheap batteries. If any take you up, then thank you. But do not for once, even think, you're are finding comparable changes. I'm assuming with your woe is me I can't afford quality equipment, you've never owned XS. And until you own quality equipment, you're not understanding the difference. It would be a separate thing if you actually knew what you were talking about, but the science just isn't there. Not hating, just stating. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
