Sheena
dont tell them you have audio, and if you ever need to take it in put all the factory stuff back. like factory head unit, etc. they cant see door speakers and such, so if you put in door speakers in the factory locations they wont notice. pull the subs and the amp out, and leave the wires. S15_Silvia
I have always wondered this myself. I'm sure there is almost nothing audio-related you could do that would void the powertrain warranty, except maybe an alt upgrade. In to see what people say. You could also ask the dealership, but I'm not convinced they'd have a complete answer. HatersGonnaHate
As long as it doesn't go back for a "warranty issue", there shouldn't be any problems. Don't cut any wires, use stock harnesses with required adapters. Don't cut any body panels, drill any holes, permanently modify anything and you should be good. Sheena
pretty much. would take like an hour to get my cars audio back to stock, pull my dash out, put the factory one back in, screw the A/C controls to it, pull subs and amp out the back and wala. Quiet
as always N8 is on the right track. My understanding is that if they believe anything you changed on the car has caused something to break, they can deny a warranty claim. i.e. if you add amps and your alt dies, they probably won't replace it. However, if you have an aftermarket battery, 2k worth of amps, and a new HU and your transmission gives up the ghost, then it should be covered. I used to sell cars in a college town.
