ya it was lol. it sucked. but I'm pretty disappointed how it turned out. But hey it was my first big build so u live and learn I guess. I will try out your build. I think I will like it better. So your saying keep it subs up/ port back? and also everyone says 6.5 to 7 cubes/sub thats why i built it so big.

cutting off the bottom is a big job

another option is cut the top and remove the port walls, cut then down and router them out so as there steeped to .75 on the sides

Is your wood thickness really 1.5"

or two layers of .75" on top and .75" on the other sides?

I've got an idea. Would I be better off flipping the box upside down and facing it forward as a wall. Port on top. Then recut the top where the holes are which would now be the bottom piece and put subs below port. Then wall it in. That way I'd have plenty of room and not have to rebuild the box. and the wood is 2 layers of .75 all the way around. including port.

I would try it out first before you tear it back apart, you may get some interesting loading off of it. Now given your vent area is larger than the area it has to pass through, but I have seen some freak things over the years.

To me it would seem easier to cut at the bottom. I would not want to redo the top baffle and the speaker cut outs. Much easier to cut the bottom and redo the port.

How would you go about cutting the top?
