bigmescan Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 For me and my opinion.....I had 1 15 face up in center of box and port facing forward in the center of the box at the bottom.... This was the loudest to my ear and sounded lower if that makes sense.....box was 5cbft.....don't remember port size but was tuned to 32hz.....never did #'s on the box and wasn't trying for numbers....I was trying to get the loudest I could for what I had and within a certain budget............ DC level 4 15s on Aq1200ds. Done this type of set up too. Numbers suck but, the reason to your ear it is louder is because of the location of the port and woofer to it. The port is more affective when it is loaded off a wall wether it is back or side. In a ext. cab truck musically woofer forward port up. Numbers everything up if you got the volume. Efficient corner loaded port woofer up even forward. I must of built over a 100 boxes between my camaro, silverado and s10 over the past ten years. Here I go again rebuilding my silverado and dropping down from 2 15's to probably 2 8's. who knows....... KIMO @teambassick http://www.teambassick.com
