Amart88
How many miles on it? I just started runing synthetic in my car. I find it runs smoother myself. But its has 100k km on it. It's supposed to be better in the long run so why not. You will have people tell you not to because of a bunch of things they "heard" but alot of that was years ago when synthtic was starting out. I used Mobil 1 as I heard good things about it. Amsoil is supposed to be the best but Mobil 1 is second to that. Another note. You pay more for synthetics but it will last alot longer before an oil change is needed. Edited May 31, 2012 by Amart88 Quote My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled. bass_stalker
just run a high mileage oil. problem with synthetic is once you run it you cant go back to conventional, and usually with synthetic your oil changes are stretched out more Quote JEEP BUILD PROJECT ANTIBLING.2000 jeep Cherokee.HEADUNITAlpine Cda-9886SUBSTAGE1 acendent 18" audio mayhem motor with a TI basket and tantric parts1 prototype DAT hellfire 1000.1HIGHSStockELECTRICALdb link 0 gaugeKnuconceptz Kolossus 4 gauge1 xs power d3400 under hoodBig 3 upgradeold fourwheeler build The only way to delete your SMD account is for you crawl to steve meades door step on your knees and pleade for his forgiveness and acceptance to be released...He will either grant your wishes.....or choke you with a large piece of 0 gauge and electrocute you by hooking up a solid gold DC 12k at 0.000001 ohm and 10000 volts to your eye sockets and blow your head apart You guys act like you have never clogged a toilet and ran around the bathroom frantically hoping it don't overflow. bass_stalker
i'm just going by what happened to my dad, though this was a few years back, when we used syenthetic in his elcamino. it ran fine until we got in a pinch and had to use conventional again, after we swapped back we had leaks from the rear main seal and the oil pan gasket. 95legwagon
from my experience never had a problem switching back and forth between conventional and synthetic..... my car has 124k on it and have switched back and forth 2 times due to money issues LOL..... never had a problem with leaking BUT did notice when you switch from conv. to synth BACK to conv. oil it gets black quick.....like in 2000 miles..... my car usually can go 3000 and just barely be dark on conventional..... synthetic i can go like 6k til it starts turning dark. synthetic is the way to go..... way better IMHO EDIT: last oil change was with royal purple 10w30 synthetic and will never buy it again..... lasted 3k and BLACK as all hell not worth the money at all.....$10/ quart @ 5 quarts + $25 for RP filter= lotza money for "great" oil and a not so happy customer..... Zapanater
Synthetic isn't all hat useful for your average gasoline car or truck. It helps, but if you've got a diesel... It makes a world of difference. Quote 2015 Subaru Outback. That is all, I refuse to touch it.
