No. You are playing a 40hz tone for the sub, if your HPF is set above that, the dd-1 won't recieve the signal. The mids are gonna have to suck it for a few seconds, or you will need to disconnect the wires.

The 40hz tone didn't get crazy on my stock speakers when Orionstang helped me set mine with his dd-1. Just let em rip for a few minutes while you set everything ;)

If i'm setting my gains on my bass amp(s) with the DD-1, can I use the HPF on the HU so my stock door speakers don't kill themselves?

Its ABSOLUTELY OK as long as there is a dedicated subwoofer RCA because it can only be LPF'd so the HPF will not affect it at all... I've used the dd-1 this way about 10times for those with speakers connected to headunits amplifier
