OrionStang Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 If I disconnect two(front) of the four rca's, will the amp draw less current because it doesn't have to amplify a signal on from those two? Like for burps only. (Sub on the rear channels). Trying to fuse down as much as possible. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Kyblack76 Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Nice job cheater face..... Should, to me, the load is what is out, not coming in.... especially just signal...eh? Quote SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
OrionStang Posted June 6, 2012 Author Report Posted June 6, 2012 Not running a dedicated sub amp, I gotta push the limits of the rules. No signal in, nothing out, no power needed. Am I way off, here? Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
White Lightning Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 (edited) Personally, I would use 2 separate power supplies (amps) ... you might take a chance of burning out 2 of those channels without haveing RCAs not connected to a running amplifier ... If you want to go low wattage ... Use a Class A/B sub amp ... IBleedMusick Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 I would think if there is no load there should be no current draw but there is only one way to find out...TEST THAT SHIT and then report back with your findings. White Lightning Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 I wouldn't recommend running a amplifier without any source RCAs hooked to it ... Just saying ... Kyblack76 Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 why? it would just sit there,... idle.... turn on, and sit,....... no signal coming in... to me, its just on, sitting there,...... like, if you had a set up... and had your HU off.........??? am i missing something? Bump4life Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 you could hook up DMM to the outputs of rcas you disconnected to see if you get any signal out Quote Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now.
