Get DC power.. the best advice I can give you.

If you want to wait for 6 months to get your alt, then sure go with them.

I would wait for an alt that won't fuck my truck up like mechman and singer have both done to me..

Care to elaborate? If you don't feel like it should go in her thread PM me. But if she's considering Singer as an option I'm sure she'd value a more in depth description of why you don't like his or MechMans product.

I have four Singer Alts and they work flawlessly. Amazing customer service as well I might add. Eric at Mechman is great, but Mike is the fucking man. I text him all the time with random questions(cuz we all know he's a genius) and he's never like "Go fuck yourself bro". Always super helpful.

I bought a singer alt for my truck because it was cheaper and Mike was VERY easy to deal with and of course he has a legacy as a builder so I was like, I'll try his product out. Didn't take too long to get here but showed up with a hole in the box, very shitty packaging.. But besides that it was good to go. I put it in and saw NO GAIN from my stock alt. and keep in mind. I was running the same electrical and amp in my car other than the difference in alt (dc power in my car). I dropped to 14v in my car, full tilt, played full songs etc... So I was like, wtf is this shit. So I bought 2 more d3100's making my total 4. My Lanzar 6k blew and I was back to using my RF 2500 in my truck. So I was like, "oh yeah, this singer alt might actually work now since I have like 2500w instead of 6k". I hook up the RF and look at my voltage full tilt. 13v full tilt..... Are you fucking kidding me, I have 6 runs of 1/0, 4 d3100's, a H/O alt and I drop to 13v full tilt, on 2500w........And yes, I redid my grounds, checked all wiring etc...

So I began to think this alt is fucking junk so I went to mechman's sit and saw that they had an alt for my truck. So I spent some more money when I shouldn't have had too and I bought this alt. It came VERY fast and mechman was great to work with. I put it in, direct swap from the Singer to the Mechman, same batteries, same amp and I didn't drop below 14v full tilt on the RF 2500.. So obviously the Mechman alt was a lot better quality than the singer. So I enjoyed the alt for about a month until the night before slamology. I went to go fill up on gas and I noticed that my voltage was at 16v.... I run a 12v setup. So I go home and I turn my car off and turn it back on and it was fine, didn't think anything of it. So the next morning I wake up and it's fine.. drive to Indy and it's still go to go...We go eat some lunch and then we head to the Drag way to get our stickers and get registered and everything, park the truck, get the shit and come back.. Turn on my car and see it jump all the way up 18v.. instantly my amps go into protect because the remote wire can't handle it. I instantly pull over and go to the back and check everything out. and we needed to get back to the hotel so I had to deal with driving back to the hotel on 18v. So pretty much I let it sit, miss the night show and then wake up the next morning and drive it to the dragway to park it, 18v the whole time. The whole fucking weekened my truck was at 18v.. but I built this truck for slam and I was going to demo it..so anyways, I didn't even take my truck to the show sunday just becuase i didn't want to fuck anything else up. So then my buddies drop me off at the hotel, I get my truck and then proceed to drive 2 hours on 18v all the way back home.. I WAS FUCKING PISSED. I bought the alt a month prior and the regulator took a shit on me. Anyways, I call mechman when I get home and I was like, i'm sending my alt in, take the reg out and give me an ext reg. Of course they charge me for it even though it's their fucking fault that the damn thing broke. but at this point I was just like whatever, just give me my alt back. They said they couldn't duplicate the problem because all they do is load test it, it is not a real world test. So yeah, it was a fucking nightmare.. Got my alt back and it's in and working with the ext reg thank god but I will never buy another prodcut from them again. They are nice people but they don't make good products, DC power makes the best shit out there, no doubt about it.

tl;dr: Singer alt didn't fuggin do anything, junk product, dropped to 13v full tilt with 4 d3100's and 6 runs of 1/0 on a 2500w amp. Direct swap to mechman alt, dropped to 14v full tilt, not bad at all.. Month later, at Slamology the regulator takes a shit because they don't make good products.. they make me pay for the ext reg when it wasn't my fault in the first place. While, I've had my DC power alt in my car for 3 years with no problems.....hmmmm...In conclusion, Mechman makes a better product than singer but still no comparison to DC power.

I don't like taking shit's on companies, but i'm a broke college student who works full time and has had nothing but problems with these companies causing me to lose all motivation for my truck when I put 300+ hours of work in it. Singer also fucked over a good friend of mine. Hope this helps..

Octoports are for ppl trying to get a big aero ports but not able to kerf wood into a circle, or feel like wasting sheets of wood just to stack rings to make ports. I'm sure they work good, but I would rather spend the time and stack rings to make a port.

That is understandable, DC power also doesn't make an alt for my car also. Mechman is the way to go over singer though.. believe me. I do love their service..
