I will give you a free lesson, if it starts to get stinky in your car when you have your bass up, that doesnt mean that you should just turn it up louder and hope it goes away.

Ram1989custom Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Personally, I have never had problems with DC Audio. Its all about how you do your system. Hypothetical situation: If you have 2 12" Level 4s on 3000 watts each, and you use this setup to demo at shows all day long, of course you are going to blow it out! Personally, I have figured out that the RMS for DC subs is what you should go by if you are going for a daily setup. Their subs can take above RMS yes, but not in extreme situations that any sub ever built will blow. Its like putting a DD Z or a Level 6 M2 on 15k RMS for demoing in 110 degree weather all day. With all that being said, a lot of the amateurs buy DC products because of their durability, but they abuse their subs because they think they can take constant abuse. I used to play my Level 4 12" all day long on 1300 RMS, non stop demos at full tilt. It took at least 5 hours straight to get it to even start to smell. Then, I let off. I didn't keep playing it, I stopped playing and let it cool off. Guess what! No issues, no recones needed. The point is, is that you can't play these like they are invincible. Back to your conflict on what subs to pick. The z v.3 is a great subwoofer from what I have heard, and my buddy has one. It is pretty loud. The AA Mayhems are great as well, I would definitely look into those, especially if it will meet your deadline. Cody said he can guarantee 2 XL 12s in your hands before your deadline, which is a sweet deal as well. I haven't really heard much about Incriminator Audio lately, but I do know of a couple of vehicles that get hella loud with them. Fi makes some high quality products as well. It all boils down to how you build the box and how you treat the subs. DD Audio is a great subwoofer brand too, but they are pricey.
