Im going to do a side by side comparison I have 8" pvc im going to flare with mdf just like the octo style port to see which is better spl wise. Im just using 2 sundown 12s for the test and then 2 custom built memphis mojos. Ill post scores and videos of each. This was why I asked earlier if you were going to double up the side pieces to the port. The round over is going to take off a ton of material once you get down to its full size and probably wont be leaving much for the face to hand onto the port body with.
