codi
question for the good box builders here is it possible to tune a box to 2 frequencies if you have a double reflex bandpass or what ever the hell its called. because it does have 2 ports. andym85
i dont think its possible to tune it to two separate frequencies without using swappable ports. however, a lot of enclosures may have two or more seperate peaks...like one peak at 40hz and the other peak at 60hz for example. and a perfect enclosure would have the same "loudness" from whatever the lowest frequency desired to the highest frequency desired regardless of volume, aka a flat response curve. someone plz feel free to correct me if im wrong...cause im still learning too.. roscoe1129
what you drew there is a dual reflex bandpass enclosure which falls under a sixth order design Quote Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer Scientia est Vox "In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!! codi
hahaha well i learned some thing new today, so is it possible to have it tuned to 2 different frequencies? or is that just really pointless, becaused what amatt said if you got a good box it should have more then one peak or what ever? roscoe1129
I may be wrong but I would say no to that with this design. You may be able to tune the front and rear chambers seperate but you will more than likely destroy your sub after a short period of time. Forevrbumpn
with a dual tuned bandpass, it usually peaks in the average point between the 2 freqs say if you tuned it to 30hz and 60hz, you will see gain at 45hz.... Depending how well you dsign the box, it will be really peaky 1 tone box, or a gentle roll from 30-60hz with a slight peak in the middle (if seen on a graph) Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. codi
haha sweet thanks, so it would be easier to have a regular ported box tuned to 45Hz
