2 amps, one remote wire???

Recommended Posts

Is it OK, and more importantly safe for me to be running 2 amps off of one remote turn on wire? I will just run the one wire to the back, and then split it into 2 wires, one for each amp. So is it OK that I do this, or should I try something else.

I'm not running anything excessive, I have a Alpine CDE-HD137BT HU, a Alpine MRP-M500 Sub amp, and a Sony XM-4045 Mids and Highs amp. I may run it temporary for a few months until I can afford some other upgrade I know I will want like a volt meter, dampening, and now a relay.

I believe the remote input on most amps requires such a small amount of juice that it's possible to run some like 10 amplifiers off one remote wire?

Tony hooked me up with the deluxe kit.... i really dig it....

There you go. I was just looking for this thread.

Edit: as stated above one of these really is overkill for 2 amps but FYI one of these relays will turn on 5 to 6 dozen amplifiers.
