Redcorn245 Posted June 22, 2012 Report Share Posted June 22, 2012 my amp is making a high pitched noise. its not audible through the speakers, but the amp it self is making the noise. any ideas on what it can be? it still bumps the subs so im not sure what it could be. the board was dusty so i blew it off and the noise stopped until i blew on it again lol. maybe its just really dusty or something? If u disconnect RCA's does it still do it ? If it is warrantied, send it back. if not, open it up and remove the ground wire from the fan and wrap electric tape around the connection points to be safe. It could also be capacitor whine. Sometimes older caps start making audible noises during their charge/discharge process. I've noticed on a majority of the amps that I've tuned with the DD-1, when the clip indicator turns on on the DD-1, I can hear a squeal coming from the amp. Back off the gain, clip light goes of, squeal goes away. How did you tune your amp?
