Best sub to run on Kicker DX300.2

Recommended Posts

I have a Kicker DX300.2 that I got for $100 from a local shop. Right now, I have a Type E 12" in a sealed 1" enclosure. I want a bit more power. Which sub would you recommend?

Alpine CDE-164BT/Rockford Fosgate P400X4

Kicker CS 6.5" Components (Front)

Kicker 6.5" Composites (Rear) (Running at -10DB for soundstage)

RF P400X1 Monoblock

2x Rockford Punch P1 12" 4 OHM SVC running @ 2 OHM in sealed 1" MDF box.

Not sure what you mean by a 1" enclosure, but anyway in the 300W department, look into the sundown E series, Skar IVX's, SSA DCON's... dual 2 ohm or single 4 ohm is what you'll want.

I'll also add the option of Obsidian audio! And then if you decide to upgrade power later, you wont have to upgrade the sub.

Without knowing budget, and size restriction, and if you can build box

You'll need to have a final load of 4 to get 300rms out of that

This will work very well (but in 4ohm final load)

Or even

Many people will dis me for recommending them but for the price and with a box I know worka very well with them, there a easy way to get into some bass,

I know a lot of people running theis sub/box setup and are very happy

If you have the space a SSA DCON 15" will increase your output a lot with the same power you have now..

On a tight budget changing the enclosure of your sub for a big ported you will also see better output without buying anything.

I have a wagon. I have the space for 2x 15" if I want, but power is a concern. 160 AMP alternator with the Big 3 done with 0 Gauge Bullz (Just fine for short runs, didn't feel like spending 3x the money on cables for 2-3 feet runs. The cable going from the fuse to the rear is a Stinger 0 gauge, since that is a longer run. I like the suggestion for a 15", as I do have the room. While my cables can handle the load, I am using a 300W rated Amp, so I will be limited to a single sub rated for 300-400 RMS. The Amp actually rates to 330 bridged @ 14.4V, which my car constantly outputs.

My current enclosure uses 1" thick MDF and is sealed. It sounds good, but I definitely need more power. The Type E is a pretty weak subwoofer. While it is 250 RMS, it doesn't have the response or deepest throw.

Your not restricted to a single sub there are many subs that run well in 150rms so 2 on 300 is perfict

The 2 kicker comp 12 in a kicker box work well and go loud for a 300 rms setup

Your only restriction is 4 ohm final load
