john253a
39hz was just an average for spl I normally tune closer to 40-42 for spl and still be musical, Will it hit the lows yes but not below 34-35 and will be quite do there That's why you need the insert to tune lower You could tune insert to 30 and then 42 if you want it even louder It's all up to you want you want to tune to
252chevyboyz
I'm really confused on the cut sheet of this box man. Me and Zac (SMZ2) just built that box you designed for the Fi/Psi 18 and that box came together perfect. Cut sheet was easy to make follow from the torres info and sketch you made. Given that box was .75" sides and 1.5" baffle. Anyway I think the 1.5" sides are really throwing me off and that's why I'm struggling with the cut sheet for this box. I will for sure stick to the 39hz tuning without the removable port but is there anyway to lower the tuning to 30hz (28-30) with the removable port in? Also with the port walls on the inside I would only make them .75" thick and then let the removable port double the wall thickness to 1.5" right? john253a
cut sheet bottom/top 48" x 37.5" x 1.5" (2off) front/back 48" x 16.5" x 1.5" (2off) sides 34.5" x 16.5" x 1.5" (2off) port top 33" x 11.5" x 1.5" (1off) ports sides 6.5" x 11.5" x 1.5" (2off) port insert sides 5.75" x 22 x 1.5" (2off) top 30" x 22" x 0.75" (1off) also with the insert you can play around with it and extend it up to 30" long for lower tuning I also added 2" to insert port to accommodate for the extra wall around port and keep running as close to 33 as possible Edited July 9, 2012 by john253a
