I have been wondering if I have twice the power, for an example, does that mean I need more cubic feet over all so that the bump does not hit so hard even after pushing your bass q back all the way because even if you change the port opening inside opening and channel space the bump remains the same only your 808 range drops and loses high hz or vise eras in therory

Without reading any of the replies in depth...

1. Make sure your enclosure meets the recommended airspace requirements for the subwoofer(s) you are running. (They will either be listed on the box, or listed online.)

2. Then, make sure you have an amplifier capable of producing the RMS value that the subwoofer(s) are rated to.

3. Your best bet for good output would be to either construct yourself, or pay someone who know how to build a box for your subwoofer(s) that meets the given values that you found in step #1.

4. Take your time typing and try to make it a little easier to read and understand what you are trying to ask.

now unless your going to be throwing a Shit Ton (that's slightly more than a Ton and less than an Ass Load)

if your going for the Shit Ton or Ass Load category then you should decrease the volume of your enclosure

This made me chuckle.

WOW, but to one of your questions, you need a smaller box with overpowering because you would over excursion the sub if you are outside the limits of the woofer and recommended air space. Causes you to blow the sub, when you make the box smaller you control handling on the cone allowing you to play the sub with more power. This is if and generally speaking only if you are running over the rating the of the sub.

But when yous makez a smaller box, it less efficance, so it can sometimes comtradicts the more powers.

It can also drastaticly change the freq response. So now instea of hittin 40 Hz, might just hits 50.

Unless you are hard core competin and burping, just design the box for what you need and apply the correct amounts of watts with the correct subsonic filter setting.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
