MrSkippyJ
You used the -10db track. Might be part of the reason. SnowDrifter
Looks like the coil ripped apart from the cone and hit the dustcap Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
stuntstere
You used the -10db track. Might be part of the reason. Yeah thats what I was thinking, plus I was playing decaf which is boosted, so I'm sure there was some clipping involved.
Srh_rider12
didn't this happen to another member like 2, 3 days ago?? bassface
didn't this happen to another member like 2, 3 days ago?? Yeah seems to be a rash of holes in subs lately.
bassface
what do you mean one side is open? The meter reads OL. There is an open in the coil on one side of the sub. The other coil reads fine at 1ohm. So would loosing a coil cause this to happen? Yeah means you have a break in the wire somewhere.
CJ18
Over excursion due to a)tuning with a -10 tone and wiring to .5ohm playing boosted music after tuning your system with the -10 tone. That sub also may have a loading issue since it is closer to the port. Did you ever notice it moving more than the other sub? Solution to this would be 1 extra spider on the recone for that sub and shrinking down your box and port area a bit.
andale927
It's not clipping.... You had your subsonic filter set wrong. What is your box tuned to?
CJ18
It looks like you broke the triple joint which caused the coil to hit the dustcap and this is the result.
