Well, I'm pretty sure there's something messed up inside my head unit. I ran power and ground runs from my battery through my door and straight to the head unit to see if it would get rid of the noise, and it did not. The wire I used was some leftover Knukonceptz 12 gauge OFC speaker wire, and the only things hooked up to the head unit were the power, ground, ignition, remote wire, and rca's. So I really can't think of anything that would be causing the noise other than something being wrong inside the head unit. I took a video of the noise, too, that I'll probably upload sometime tonight. I'll probably end up sending in the head unit to Pioneer and using my old Sony head unit until I get the 80prs back. That'll also give me a chance to run the Mezzos passive and see how they sound like that.

Dude! I've had a hell of a time chasing down some terrible whine I had as well. I had a ground loop isolator recomended multiple times and I really did not think it would solve the problem. Got one today, put it in line with my RCAs. Totally solved the issue. Maybe something you want to try?

I might have to try that! It'll have to wait though. I'm gonna be racing mountain bikes this weekend and it's gonna take about all the money I have haha.

Awesome work man and those mezzos are sexy

Thank you! I really like how the tweeters look. I just need to take a day or so to get them tuned really nice. It's just a bit discouraging when I have the engine whine that kinda ruins it.

Well use it as motivation to win lol maybe get some prize money

Unfortunately that won't work haha. My nice bike is in the shop, so I'm using my old ghetto rigged bike. On top of that, I'm definitely not the fastest in the class I'm in. There's also no prize money for winning in my class, but I'll try to win anyway! haha

Thanks man! I wouldn't count on any big updates any time soon. Mountain biking has kind of taken over my life, and my wallet, so my truck has been put on the back burner.

Anyways, I went over to SnowDrifter's house today to try out his ground loop isolator, and it got rid of the noise! So now I just need to order a couple more of the ground loop isolators and I'll have a noise-free system! Big thanks to OrangeJuiced for giving me the idea and to Snow for letting me try it out!
