johnarias15
I wanted to do that but the box is bolted to the body of the truck. Bump4life
sounds like your starving amp and making it work too hard. give it some bigger wire. 4 gauge i guess and you should be fine. are you sure the 8 gauge is a good brand, reliable wire? cause if its not then that could definitely cause a problem. like socky said its trying to down the drink threw a stiring straw. plus at 1 ohm it is way less efficient than at 4 ohm. rockFord_Expedition
From the Crossfire website: C3 501 Product Features: · SMD Dedicated Audio Chip Devices · International Standards FR-4 Double Sided Fiberglass PCB · Fully 1 Ohm Stable Mono Operation · High Efficiency MOSFET Power Supplies · Variable Low Pass Filter · Variable Bass Boost Control · Power On & Protection LED Indicators · Short-Circuit / Thermal / Overload / Under Voltage Protection · Small Footprint Doesn't the amp also only accept an 8 GA power/ground connection? For the power and ground I would either give some gauge adapters a try: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_32009_Stinger-SPT522.html Or use distribution blocks to make the runs of 8GA as short as possible. Do you have pics of your ground connections? Quote Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
soundstream15
what kind of speaker wire you running? i had install bay 12g speaker wire and when i would turn my volume full tilt it would cut out and go into protection mode on some notes, i replaced it with better wire and problum solved, you might have a short wire those subs to 1ohm and run 4g wire
