I took 3 pieces of mdf and made a new, stronger, rear hatch floor in my magnum. From there, I covered it with hardwood flooring and cut out a window for plexi in the last piece that folks up and opens for access to the amps. As you can see, there isn't much of a lip for it to sit on. It's about 1/4'. I'm looking for a way to secure the plexi to the wood, where it sits flush (or atleast I want it to). I'd like for screws not to show, but I'm honestly open to any and all ideas. I'm in the process of putting suede on the box, creating a beauty panel for the front and top in black vinyl, and repainting the hole vents as well as the piano hinge.

Any pics that show an example of your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Epoxy that bish! Unless you plan on removing it in the future.

I would like something I could remove, only because I plan on having a few different windows. They are pretty cheap and I just get frosted vinyl with different designs cut into them.

Silicone should do the trick. Another option would be to make a trim ring that goes over the edge of the plexi to hide the seam and you can use a brad nailer to secure the trim ring in place. Easily removable by just popping off the trim ring to swap out windows.

that's what I was thinking too. kind of like a picture frame that holds the front and back of the plexiglass.

then use silicon like cj18 stated to secure the plexiglass in the "frame"

Why does it have to be removeable if it all folds up??

I say silicone it in there with clear silicone so you cant see it through the plexi. You should probably build a trim ring to go around it...in which case you could hide screws. Ehh there are a couple different ways but I agree on the idea with the brad nails and frame style mounting.

Id use #6 black screws and paint a black rectangle border on the plexi to hide the seam.
