Hey my name is sam, Im new here and wanna just say hey, steve's designs are amazing and this seems like a kick ass forum and i got a few questions for u guys and am in need of some advice.

For Christmas i got a PDX-4.100 amp which we found for a sick deal, i got this to power my infinity kappa 6x8's i got earlier in november, i have done my research and am attempting to install the amp myself using a 4 channel kit by kicker in my 1996 mercury sable wagon with electronic A/C controls and because there is no adapter plate to put in an aftermarket headunit because of the stupid fuckin football shaped headunit/ AC controls i am using an LOC at the RCU in the back to run RCA's to the amp because it only has pre amp inputs. my only issue is that the 4 channel LOC i got from crutchfield by scoshe was a peice of crap and didnt even work and now the 2 2-channel LOC's by PAC seem to not be workin right and seem to have alot of noise and variation in volume with em, this testing ive done has been just running the RCA's to a pair o computer speakers to just make sure they work.

pretty much my question is, what is your guys experience with LOC's and what would u suggest.

And ive been crimping most everything, would i be better off sodering it all.

I was looking at the new MTX sound processor, what do u guys think of it, with the factory headunit would it be a good investment? (dont have enough money for a 3sixty haha.

who ever told you there is no mounting kit is jerking you around. i owned a 95 taurus wagon i had a kenwood in there. my cousin owns a 96 taurus 4-door and they make a kit for him. they are sometimes hard to find though

nah ive done a looked all over the place, namely the taurus car club of america forum (LMAO) haha but i have the electronic AC controls which means i got buttons instead of knobs for my AC and the kits are made for cars with the knobs, its fuckin shitty but im tryin to work around it.

sorry just reread your post. your right they dont make the kit for the digital controls. i have used LOC before. something that worls good too is if you can find a crossover that has high level inpputs and low level outputs. i know pyramid has one, i use these alot they work great. usualyy in my area they are like $20

No from what he said he has DIGITAL A/C CONTROLS and in that pic the A/C dial style knobs are clearly visible.

So that option is out.

without fabbing up a custom plate a LOC is prolly ur best bet and if the signal you get out sucks you could try a pure line driver to boost the voltage at the rca's before the amp inputs.

I used a Stinger LOC on My co-workers 2004 Civic and it works perfectly.

Since you have little to no amp control up front with a stock deck I would also recomend a universal Bass knob by PAC for ur subs.

The LOC is shown in pic 6 & 7 on the back of his 1st box..there's video on the last pages showing the use of the universal bass knob.
