redbaron80 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Share Posted January 9, 2008 That pat has been figured out for awhile now, There has been some Grey area in what is "commercially available" and how songs are manipulated. neither of which are an issue until finals when one judge says it's Ok all year and another says no. Minor stuff really, and now that it has been brought up, I'm sure it will be taken care of. I think the bigger issue for them to cover is class structure. There trying to find a way to make the DB drag side more affordable or create classes for people just starting out. Even in the Street classes ( where it was meant to keep cost down ) still takes several thousands of dollars to be competitive. That is discouraging to newcomers. I myself have a small car that I can bring out that I think would do really well in a street class however, I can't afford to even begin to compete at the level that some of the others do. This is why NSPL has rules for their street classes restricting sub size ,amplifier power, amount of wire, and amount of batteries. For amplifier power they go by manufacturers fuse amperage rating which helps weed out the under-rated cheater amps. This helps level the playing field when cars in Trunk 24" are limited to a pair of 12s, one amplifier w/ no more than a 200a fuse rating, one run of 1/0awg power wire, and one extra battery. Thats the fun of bass race. I agree it sounds like the rules were violated. They were made to ward off magic mike feel the bass type songs... He knew that tyrese soung had it and used it. Caught everyone off guard. Slick idea to keep restarting the track! I think the rules should stays as they are. Maybee theres a way to catch it in the termpro software.
