dl9890 Posted August 1, 2012 Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 shoot with $500 to spend on one 15" you might wanna upgrade your power? Idk thats just me though, a $500 sub spent well will usually beg for more than 1000 watts at 2 ohms edit: not saying that you have to blow your whole budget but still. Hey, i'm just throwin' out there what I got to spend. Doesn't mean that's what I will spend in the long run.

Hey, i'm just throwin' out there what I got to spend. Doesn't mean that's what I will spend in the long run. it I think you could get a lvl 3 for a very reasonable price that is well within budget. You can get a price quote herehttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/119602-dc-price-reqest-thread/ My guess is anywhere between $200 and $300. Jordan Guess Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 with 1000, look at the American Bass XFL's, obsidian's (rated at 600 rms but can handle more), DC lvl 3, Fi SSD's, or the Digital Designs 1515
412 CVX Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Sundown Z 15", It will laugh at that 1k you're giving it, until you're ready to step up to some real power Just look on SSAudio.com. Pick whichever woofer you like that is rated for 1k+ watts, bring it back here and get the box taken care of. Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
mttornquist Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Grab two AA Assassins he would be giving them twice rated power, and from the sounds of it he won't have the resources to have his amp tuned perfectly. imho I think he would blow them. No offense to the OP I just don't think it sounds like a good route EDIT: two AA Arsenals may be an option though if he isn't set on the single 15, two 12s have more cone area than one 15 My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...lmost-complete/

I've had 2 12" kicker comps and 2 12" cvrs. 12's are something to consider.
CJ18 Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 smd all day or fi btl fully loaded n3 Am I the only one who found this post funny? I dont think 1000w would even tickle either of those subs. If you choose to go the DC route, either the Level 3 or Level 4 15 would do nicely and would be well within your budget. You could also do a pair of Level 2s that would go perfectly with your amp and budget.
