I guess I didn't design it right

Recommended Posts

So I guess my design wasn't good enough. I didn't think to much of it till I got the extra baffle on because that does effect the port. But it just seems like my sub should be playing lower. I am tuned to 29Hz, and anything from there and lower, is barely loud at all. My hole purpose of this build was to be able to reach down into the low 20's so I can get a feel for it as a daily driver and to see if I liked it at all for future preferences. From what I have learned on this forum, I believe I designed this properly, did I do something wrong?

Running off a MB QuartFX1.600 @ 2 ohms, seeing anywhere from 400-500 watts on a IVX-15 D4

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

2.5 ft3 for a 15" sub ? Been told by the owner ? :WTFBubble:

I'd rather have a bigger box and less power !!!

I've never seen any 15" liking 2.5 ft3 ported. At least 3ft3, but that's on the small side !

It is indeed portup/subup, As far as port dimensions, I have always gone off of the height of the port being if your looking at the top of the box, so the depth of the outer dimensions on the program. i thought it might be a bit small, guess I was right.

Edit: I was told this by the owner of the company, so I thought that was the best place to ask for the design on their equipment.

You are also at 1" from the sidewall so the port length is 44" so tuned a bit lower.
