Technicians are specialist in instrumentation, automation, computer, electrical, mechanical, safety, and process systems. Technicians need academic and technical skills in computer applications, instrumentation, mathematics, physical science, electronics, fluid mechanics, process diagrams and process systems along with communication, teamwork, and employability skills. Salary & Career Outlook Graduates of the IPT program can expect to work at state-of-the-art production facilities, offices, and control rooms equipped with advanced technologies. The industry advisory board projects the starting salaries of IPTN graduates to average $60,000 with an opportunity to increase earnings with overtime.
