I normally don't pull the neg either, just the fuse. but... I won't tell someone else to do it that way because (although very small) there is a possible risk to equipment and yourself. As stated, just be careful and u'll be good removing the fuse. i sometimes take my training too seriously, the military is a tad bit anal.

I pull the fuse for extra saftey, when dealing batteries , you pull the negative.

I just disconnect the RCAs, then the - line, then the + line and don't put the + down until the exposed end has been swaddled in electrical tape. That way I don't have to disconnect anything but the amp.

always pull the fuse. terrible advice to suggest otherwise.
