Captain Stupid
All four layers on now and exterior of box sanded fully smooth. This pic was taken after the first flood coat went on. I wasn't happy with the way it came out (still learning), so I sanded it back off again.... After resanding.... After second flood coat it looks a lot better. I still could have made it nicer if I had not had so many overlapping layers underneath it, live and learn.... 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
Captain Stupid
Now here is the second exterior side done. This is the angled side of the box that sits up against the seats. Because the rear seats are captain's chairs, you can see the box between them, so I decided to finish it off nicely. Or at least as nicely as a "HACK" can do. Two pics of the same side showing just how glossy and glass-smooth this stuff turns out when everything works out well.... 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ

Pro7
I love the box man it's a piece of art And about the people that get mad about it I just don't see the logic behind saying it's a waste or whatever you want to say when it's not your money but then to go on and insult the man is just dumb.. it kinda makes me understand what that guy in the ad-1 thread was talking about when he said that car audio people are much more separated that other hobbies. Like if you think you can do better work than him, great why would you have to shove it in his face? Everyone in hear knows that if Steve did the same thing to one of his boxes (not saying that there would be any frayed edges on the inner layers that doesn't much matter anyways) that people would probably be praising him like he just invented sliced bread, that's probably the only thing I don't like about this site but I just try to ignore it anymore I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before

Especially the part about Steve. I wouldn't claim to be on the same level as him or any other professional installer, but I've never seen anyone criticize him for "wasting money" on a project. We all waste money, but you've got to be a complete egomaniac to think that you have the right to tell a grown ass man where he can or cant spend his money. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
