ColumbusJBR
O and can putting too big of a fuse on the wire be bad? I said fuck it and bought the biggest one I could find haha. YES! It can be very bad! You fuse your power wire to protect the wiring in case of a short. You NEED a fuse rated LOWER than what your wiring can handle so in the case of a short the fuse will blow before your wiring melts and catches on fire. Throwing the biggest fuse you could find on is not good. What gauge is your wiring and what amp fuse do you have?
Dj Drake
Didn't mean to post yet, damn iPhone lol like Chevyboy said go with that kicker amp, that will make a big difference Alright thanks man. That is the amp I will be getting. Now just got to get me a new box and like CJ said I'll change out my wires for name brand ones.
Ryan929
I had two of these subs except they were 12s and i had a 500w rockford fosgate on them and they hit pretty hard for only running 500watts then just out of curiosity i had a hifonics bxi 2010d that i hooked up to them just to see how it would sound and in my opinion the rockford sounded better and louder so for these subs i would say get an amp that is rated around the same as the subs can handle dont over power them as they wont sound as loud or good. Yes it could be very bad for your system, you, and your truck. Fuse rating should match up with the current the amp can draw as well as with the size of the wire you're running. This is scary lol. This is scary lol. x2, fuse according to the size of the wire and how many amps you'll be drawing, too little and the fuse could pop before you're getting all the power from your amp, too big and it doesn't blow if something goes wrong and you could mess your amp up that way.
