stock electrical okay for AQ2200?

Recommended Posts

just upgraded zero gauge wire instead of 4 gauge because i got a new amp (AQ2200). was running about 14.1 volts before the new wire, now at about 13.9 i think.

If i run this AQ at .5 ohms am I gonna need a bigger battery than the over the counter one I have, or any other upgrades? Im not sure exactly what battery is in it right now, or how many amps the alternator is, but is that AQ gonna be dropping me down bellow 12 volts in this case, or should i be alright?

you need 2 good bats at least to group 34s AGM for that amp especially if running at .5 ohm. and you need the big all in OFC with great grounds. if your stock alt is over 100A that should be fine.

have to learn how sooner or later right? what kind of good batteries are we looking at here?

If by learn you mean having to watch your aq go up in smoke then yes.

i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah..

I am running an AQ2200 @ 1ohm, 105a stock alt, stock battery, no big 3 done, just a Kinetik 1400 sitting in the rear and I drop down to 12.3 at the lowest at idle.

Get the picture? Do upgrades before you drop it to .5 ohms. Listen to bump4life, he pointed you in the right direction.

Don't run .5 for YOU, period. You need one group 31 and a 34 under the hood, Big3 and HO alt. plus you need to make sure you have very little to NO resistance on your grounds to the amp. Preferably sending a negative run from your front battery to your rear would(more than likely since factory hopefully tested their ground location) be the best way.

You've asked questions that are noob before and always get the right answers around here. The answe in this case is don't run .5 ohms. That amp has PLENTY of balls at 1 ohm and doesn't need to go to half ohm.

You don't need to "learn" by frying equipment.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
