ChromeJerome
Well, I've had the same Pioneer DEH-P4200UB deck for over 2 years and never had any problems. A few weeks ago I switched the rca cables, and everything was still good, absolutely nothing but music came out of the speakers. Then about a week ago, I got the Pioneer Double DIN AVH-2400BT, and ever since, even at idle, there are two problems: 1) Not really a big deal, I can only hear it when there's no music, but there is a dull static noise coming through the door/dash speakers, but doesn't really affect the sound as far as I can tell, and it gets louder when i turn the volume up, is this normal? and 2) The REAL problem, there is engine noise coming through the subs, and of course since they are subs, it is a low, rumbling noise. It is constant, and I can tell that it is affecting the sound at all volumes. I know it's not the amp ground nor the rca's, because these weren't problems with the other headunit. I don't know why it would be the headunit ground, because this is the same ground for the other headunit, but maybe because they're different? Any suggestions or solutions? kl0wn
As said before, just ground your RCA's. I have the exact same problem with my head unit. I just wrapped some bare wire around the RCA connects on the back of the HU, plugged in my rca's, electrical tapped them, then grounded that wire to a bolt on the HU. No more noise. 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz

Did you put that wire around the rca wire ends themselves? Or the plug/output on the back of the headunit? Or does it matter? By that I mean just harness to harness and it's grounded however the vehicle came?
