Captain Stupid
Well, I am friggin pissed off!! It had just turned dark out and I'm driving down a road in an industrial part of town. I know where all of the potholes are and I'm good at avoiding them. Usually. Unfortunately for me, a new one must have sprung up today. I didn't see it until it was too late. I hit it with a huge SLAM and the heard the telltale hissing sound of the air escaping quickly from my tire. I knew instantly that I had bent my rim pretty badly. Only had the wheels two months now. Sucks, but I have no one to blame but myself. Now I get to pay a visit to the local wheel repair guy and see how much it will cost me to fix it. I probably also busted the sidewalk of the tire by hitting so hard, so now I'll probably have to buy a tire also. Luckily I was only about 4 miles from home so I put my flashers on and crawled home at 25 mph. Hopefully if the sidewall isn't broken from the impact I didn't ruin the tire by driving it so far while flat. I'll just expect to have to buy a new tire and be happy if I don't. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ

Of course I knew it could happen. I was probably sporting low profile tires when you were still sporting diapers. #3. I'm not a 13 year old girl, I know better than to text while driving. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ

Yeah, I've done a lot worse than this. Sliding sideways into a curb at 40mph will wreck a couple of rims quickly! Captain Stupid
Dismounted the tire this morning and took the wheel to the best wheel unbender-er in the area. Got the wheel straightened, but heating the wheel bubbled the chrome. He said he had never seen a chrome wheel bubble so easily. Cheap fuckin Chinese chrome wheel. And the tire has torn rubber from the impact on the inner sidewall. I will mount the bad tire to the bad wheel and use it as a spare while I order up a new wheel and tire. Sucks to blow another $1000+, but hey, now I have a full-size spare if I ever need it! 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
