Karkov Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 going to be ran active on my c1100.4 Why go active over passive? Louder? Cleaner? More efficient? I see people going both ways (insert sinister comment here) and am deciding which I should go with for myself. Are you going active right off the bat or trying passive first? You already know what you want? why/how? You already know what you want? why/how? Thanks Active only, I dont see how I could sun a passive set up even if I wanted to with 8 mids and 2 tweeters, the tweeters will be bridged on channels 1&2 and will be getting around 300w each and 4 mids on ch3 and 4 mids on ch4 getting 75w ea. Right now the mids are bandpassed from 120ish to around 5k hz when I get the tweets in I might change it up to see what sound the best. bighossf150 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 no clue, the other 3 still work perfectly fine, the amp in protect is the one I was using back on the 2 18 wall so I was using it for almost a year with no issues then it randoms decides to go into protect. n8ball2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 When I had an amp issue it was the one on the bottom. Before you pull it out make sure that you test it by itself and see if it still protects THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.

n8ball2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 No idea I just know it worked when I pulled them so there was no weight on the bottom one. I added another tiny spacer between the amps because j think it cause the case to ground out on the aluminum supports that were bolted to the truck floor THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.
bighossf150 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 doubt thats the issue with mine, I have a sheet of mdf on bottom, 1/2" nylon spacer, c1100.4, then the 3500 that is stuck in protect. At first I didnt think to check to see if the protect light was on since the rca's from the h/u go into this amp and then are daisy chained to the other 3 and the others are working fine Used to have a loud truck 2009 Corvette Z06, H/C/I, 150 shot, g force tune, 730rwhp/690rwtq 2013 F-150 limited, MPT Tune, leveled on 35"s
